The film follows Robert Clayton Dean (Will Smith), a successful lawyer who stumbles upon a mysterious videotape while on his way home from work. Unbeknownst to Dean, the tape contains evidence of a massive government conspiracy, and various agencies will stop at nothing to obtain it. As Dean tries to uncover the truth and protect himself and his family, he finds himself in a cat-and-mouse game with ruthless government agents.
