The plot thickens as we learn the attackers' goal is to extract a traitorous American general who had been hiding in the White House. They plan to use him to gain leverage over the U.S. government. Meanwhile, Mike Banning (Gerard Butler), a former Secret Service agent who was fired after an incident, takes it upon himself to rescue the President.
