As Jim tries to come to terms with his situation, he discovers that Aurora, a journalist, is also awake. The two form a bond, and Jim tries to make the most of his situation. However, things take a turn when they discover that the ship's AI, an automated system designed to assist them, is malfunctioning, putting the entire mission at risk.
