The movie follows a wealthy and successful businessman, Nicholas Bannister (Kevin Costner), who gets involved with a beautiful young woman, Sarah (Amber Heard). As their relationship deepens, Sarah's past comes back to haunt her in the form of her ex-boyfriend, Michael (Michael B. Jordan), who seeks revenge against Nicholas.
