Wale's big break came in 2006 when he released his debut mixtape, "Dig Dug (Shake It)". The tape gained local attention, and he eventually caught the eye of Interscope Records. In 2007, Wale signed with Interscope and released his second mixtape, "The Gettin' Over It".
